A self-propelled floating crane of the SPK-150 type, built at the St. Petersburg shipyard of the "Almaz" company, has been included in the Pacific Fleet. The ceremony took place in Kamchatka, the fleet's press service reported.
Deputy Commander of Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, Evgeny Myasoedov, stated that the crane will help "maintain the combat readiness of submarines and ships serving on the eastern borders." The captain of the SPK-150, Maxim Goncharov, received the flag of the auxiliary fleet.
After that, the St. Andrew's flag and signal flags were raised, which demonstrated the vessel's readiness to perform the assigned tasks.
The SPK-150 is capable of performing all types of lifting operations on surface ships and submarines located at the pier or at anchorage. The vessel is capable of moving independently and does not need to be accompanied by tugs.
