Rosatom has received messages from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about the readiness of the United States to cooperate in the field of electricity generated by the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the head of the state corporation Alexei Likhachev said.
He stressed that Rosatom is open to international cooperation. However, the ZNPP should be controlled by the operating organization in accordance with Russian law.
Any deviation from these principles is a threat to the loss of this very security, a threat of an incident.
Likhachev also recalled that the ZNPP has already received a license to operate power unit No. 1. The condition of the equipment and safety systems of the station was assessed by Rostekhnadzor employees. It will be gradually prepared for transfer to the generation mode.
