The Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision has issued a license to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant for the operation of a dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility for a period of 25 years.
The license is granted in full compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation and regulatory documents in the field of atomic energy use.
The spent fuel storage facility is necessary to ensure the long-term and safe operation of the power units of the plant.
We ensure safety not only for the current generation, but also lay the foundation for stable operation in the long term.
It is important to emphasize that the permits issued for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant before September 30, 2022, remained legally valid until licenses were issued in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 5, 2022, "On the peculiarities of legal regulation in the field of atomic energy use in the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region".
