Il-114-300 exceeded the speed limit by 120 km/h during tests

The crew accelerated the aircraft to 580 km/h instead of the cruising speed of 450 km/h

Certification tests of the import-substituted short-haul airliner Il-114-300 are in full swing. During the flight on December 21, the aircraft was accelerated to 580 km/h.

The tests took place in Zhukovsky, tail number 54116 spent in the air for 2 hours and 1 minute. Maximum flight altitude — 7000 m.

It is noted that on the website of the United Aircraft Corporation indicates that the cruising speed for Il-114-300 is 450 km/h. Thus, the crew exceeded it by 120 km/h.

As a reminder, Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the turboprop aircraft Il-114, the aircraft will replace the outdated An-24, as well as foreign Bombardier Dash 8 and ATR 72.

Independent aviation expert Alexey Zakharov warned that the serial production of the Il-114-300 may be associated with problems due to an unadjusted supply chain of components.

The Comprehensive Program for the Development of Civil Aviation states that in the Russian Federation 51 units of Il-114-300 will be built by 2030. However, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated that after the certification of the "Ila", "Superjet" and MS-21-310 the figures in the CPDCA will be revised.
