Updated "Red Arrow" to Make First Trip from St. Petersburg

The branded train began running between Moscow and Leningrad in 1931

The new generation "Red Arrow" train with T-gauge cars was presented at the Moscow railway station in St. Petersburg. It will depart on its first trip with passengers around midnight, the Russian Railways press service reported.

What's new with the "Red Arrow":

  • elegant livery
  • cars are 73 cm longer and 28 cm wider
  • each car has a shower
  • sleeping berths are 3 cm wider
  • compartments are equipped with individual lamps and safes, sockets, USB
  • compartments for passengers with children have appeared
  • 2 compartments for passengers with limited mobility have been added to the staff cars
  • a car diagnostics system with a user-friendly interface has been implemented

The press service of Russian Railways said that in 2025 the company received 12 compartment cars of T gauge from the Tver Carriage Works. In 2027, the carrier's fleet will be replenished with SV, Luxe and restaurant cars of this type.
