After the An-24 crash near Tynda, the Ministry of Forestry demands compensation — the court took a break

Arbitration reclassified the proceedings on the claim against "Angara" after the airline's motion

The Arbitration Court of the Irkutsk Region has temporarily suspended consideration of the claim of the Ministry of Forestry and Fire Safety of the Amur Region against the airline "Angara". This is evidenced by data from the file of arbitration cases. Initially, the department demanded to recover 535 thousand rubles from the carrier as compensation for damage caused to the forest fund as a result of the crash of the An-24 aircraft near Tynda on July 24, 2024.

The court accepted the claim for proceedings in a simplified manner, however, "Angara" filed a motion to transfer the case to consideration in the general procedure. The court granted the request and scheduled a meeting for December 4, later announcing a break until December 16, 2025.

According to the latest entries in the case file, on December 5 and 15, both parties — both the plaintiff and the defendant — sent additional documents to the court for attachment to the case. However, a reasoned ruling on the suspension of proceedings has not yet been published.

As a reminder, the An-24 disaster occurred during the approach to landing at Tynda Airport. There were 48 people on board, including the crew — all died. The wreckage of the aircraft was found on a mountainside 16 km from the settlement. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the emergency.

In November 2024, Rosaviatsia revoked "Angara's" operator certificate for commercial air transportation, citing the results of an unscheduled inspection by the MTU Rostransnadzor for the Siberian Federal District. Previously, the certificates of the company's aviation training center and its permission for aircraft maintenance were also revoked.
