A solemn ceremony of commissioning the small hydrographic vessel (MGS) "Vasily Bubnov" of project 19910 into the Russian Navy took place at the Pacific Fleet's base in Sakhalin. According to the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, the vessel is officially enlisted in the combat composition of the Pacific Fleet and has begun performing tasks of hydrographic support.
The meeting dedicated to the inclusion of the ship in the fleet was conducted by the Deputy Commander of the Primorsky Flotilla of Mixed Forces of the Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Alexander Schwartz.
In his speech, Rear Admiral congratulated the crew on the commissioning of the new vessel and noted the importance of hydrographic works for ensuring the safety of navigation and combat readiness of the fleet. He expressed confidence that "Vasily Bubnov" will continue the traditions of reliability and efficiency established by its predecessor — MGS "Alexander Rogotsky", also of project 19910, successfully operated in the Far East.
The vessel was built at the St. Petersburg Shipyard "Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya". It was laid down on March 26, 2020, and launched on July 28, 2024. "Vasily Bubnov" is equipped with modern hydroacoustic, navigation, and mapping systems, which allows for high-precision surveys of the seabed and updating navigation charts in complex areas of the Pacific Ocean.
