Sea Trials of Dry Cargo Vessel "Kaspiyskiy Bereg" Completed Under RS Supervision

Under the technical supervision of specialists from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), sea trials of the new mixed navigation vessel of project RSD49 - "Kaspiyskiy Bereg" - have been completed. The construction is underway at the production site of JSC "Shipyard "Lotos"" in the city of Narimanov (Astrakhan Region), and the entire cycle of technical supervision from laying down to testing is carried out by the Astrakhan branch of RS.

The RSD49 project vessels are designed for transporting a wide range of cargoes: from grain and coal to scrap metal, rolled metal, lumber, and dangerous goods. Thanks to their well-thought-out design, they can be effectively operated both on sea routes in R2 navigation areas and on inland waterways of Russia. At the same time, the vessels comply with the dimensional restrictions of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal and are compatible with the locks of the Volga-Baltic Waterway and the Moscow Canal.

Project RSD49 was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau by order of the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant and the North-Western Shipping Company. The vessels of the project are intended for sea and mixed (river-sea) operation.

• Deadweight (at sea/in river) - 7143/4507 t.

• Range - 4000 miles.
• Number of cargo holds - 3.
• Cargo hold volume - 10921 m³.
• Ballast tank volume - 3959 m³.
• Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class - КМ Ice2 R2 AUT1-C.
• Main engine power - 2 × 1200 kW.
• Propeller-rudder complex - 2 FPP + 2 rudders.
• Bow thruster - 200 kW.
• Auxiliary generators: diesel generators - 2 × 292 kW, emergency diesel generator - 1 × 90 kW.
• Crew - 10 people, places - 13.
• Speed (at draught of 4.7 m and 85% MCR) - 11.5 knots.
