Russia has developed a new motor grader that has no analogues either in the USSR or in the modern domestic industry. The UMG Group presented the DZ-350 model with an operating weight of 35 tons; equipment of this class has not yet been produced in the country.
The prototype was manufactured at the Chelyabinsk Construction and Road Machines plant. In the near future, the DZ-350 will begin operational tests in the largest mining companies in Russia.
The DZ-350 is equipped with a YaMZ-7726 engine with a power of 309 kW, it is equipped with blades with a width of 4.9 to 5.5 meters and received an articulated frame, a front axle wheel tilt system, as well as a "crab walk" mode.
Konstantin Nikolaev, General Director of UMG, noted that the development of the DZ-350 was a response to the departure of foreign suppliers of heavy road construction equipment.
We will be ready to start deliveries of the heaviest Russian DZ-350 motor grader as early as the first quarter of next year. Thus, UMG will become the only manufacturer in our country of a full line of motor graders weighing from 14 to 35 tons.
The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The agreement on subsidizing research and development work within the framework of the innovation project was signed in November 2024.
The main area of application of the DZ-350 is road construction and infrastructure maintenance in the mining industry. Previously, only foreign motor graders were used for such tasks in Russia.
