BTR-82A involved in exercises of the Baltic Fleet's marine infantry

Firing from the standard armament of the armored personnel carrier took place in the Kaliningrad region

Marines of the Baltic Fleet practiced combat training tasks, including dealing with scouts and saboteurs at the Khmelevka training ground in the Kaliningrad region. This was reported by the fleet's press service.

During combat training, marines as part of companies perform live firing from assault rifles and machine guns, sniper rifles, hand-held anti-tank and under-barrel grenade launchers, as well as from the armament of BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.

Servicemen also practiced offensive and defensive operations, evacuation of the wounded, and overcoming minefields. Later, the marines will perform tasks in anti-amphibious defense.

More than 100 soldiers are participating in the maneuvers. Over 10 units of military and special equipment were involved in the exercises.

About the BTR-82

BTR-82 is a deeply modernized version of the Soviet BTR-80 wheeled armored personnel carrier. Its production was established at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant.

The combat vehicle is armed with a PKTM and a 2A72 30 mm caliber gun. It is equipped with a KAMAZ-740.14‑300 engine with a power of 300 hp.
