In December, the second stage of the program for the introduction of electronic passports, or digital IDs, began in Russia. They can be used on a par with traditional paper documents. At the new stage, banks and financial institutions will join the experiment, if the regulatory acts of the Central Bank do not require the mandatory presence of a paper document.
Users are given the opportunity to agree to or revoke permission to use electronic data through an enhanced unqualified electronic signature in the Gosklyuch application. A simple electronic signature will be valid until July 1, 2027. Currently, you can generate a QR code for identification via the MAX messenger, and soon via the Gosuslugi application.
Recall that the introduction of digital passports is taking place in stages. At the first stage, QR codes began to be accepted instead of passports in cinemas, museums, when entering office centers with a pass system, as well as when buying goods with age restrictions and sending parcels. When using such a document, only the necessary data is displayed, which corresponds to a specific service.
