Honored test pilot, Hero of Russia Alexander Garnaev, was outraged by the reduction in the flight range of the new medium-range aircraft MC-21-310. Due to the aircraft becoming 6 tons heavier, transportation capabilities have decreased from 5100 to 3830 km in a typical two-class configuration.
He recalled that in this case, it concerns 175 passengers on board, of which 16 are in business class and 159 are in economy. At the same time, the launch customer, the airline "Russia", plans to receive the MC-21-310 in a single-class configuration for 211 passengers.
The range will be even shorter - in reality, taking into account the fuel reserve, the aircraft will be suitable for routes with a length of around 3000 kilometers. So, will this miracle not even be capable of regular Moscow - Irkutsk flights?
Former Sukhoi designer Vadim Lukashevich explained that such characteristics of the MC-21-310 are due to the fact thatthe weight of domestic composites is higher than that of foreign ones.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the import-substituted MC-21 made only 23 out of 293 flights to complete certification.
