The authorities of the Vladimir region have decided to reconstruct the Semyazino airfield to be able to receive the new Russian MC-21-310 aircraft. The work will begin as part of the national project for the development of the transport system.
The key technical change to the air harbor will be the lengthening of the runway to 2,600 meters. This will allow Semyazino to receive the MC-21-310, Boeing 737, SJ-100 and other modern medium-range aircraft.
It should be noted that the MC-31-310 with PD-14 engines specifically requires a runway length of 2410 m. Earlier versions, such as the MC-21-200 with PW1400G engines, may have slightly different runway requirements.
It also became known that "ODK-Saturn" specialists are working on reducing the weight of the PD-14 for the MC-21-310 using new VKU-65 carbon fiber.
