All Russian airports that have been closed since 2022 are ready to operate, but a decision on their opening has not yet been made. The only priority for Rosaviatsiya is to ensure flight safety, said Dmitry Yadrov, head of the supervisory authority.
We are in dialogue with the Ministry of Defense, which makes the decision to open, taking into account all factors.
Currently, 8 airports in Russia are temporarily closed: Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don and Simferopol. The Elista air harbor has been operating since May 2024, the Gelendzhik airport resumed operations in July 2025, and the Krasnodar airport opened in September. It has become easier for tourists to get to the southern resorts.
The Russian government annually allocates funds to support the infrastructure of closed facilities. The number of airport personnel was maintained at up to 90%.
