Yakutsk Airport is updating its technical fleet in anticipation of the harsh Yakut winter. For testing in extreme conditions, a SEA 350 hot-air LPG universal motor heater from RTC LLC (Khabarovsk) was leased. The equipment is being tested as a prototype for heating aircraft.
We want to make sure that the equipment works effectively at extremely low temperatures.
The tests are carried out directly on the airfield apron, where the equipment must cope with temperatures dropping to -50 °C.
The new heater provides uniform heating of engines and aircraft cabins, which significantly reduces preparation time for departure.
The main goal is to ensure uninterrupted flight service even in the harshest winter months.
Yakutsk Airport is considering purchasing several such units in the future if operating experience confirms their reliability and efficiency.
