Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC "Tupolev") does not produce Tu-214 aircraft, as all its resources are currently occupied by the implementation of the state defense order. This assumption was made in an interview with"The First Technical" by Andrey Velichko, editor-in-chief of the "Aviation of Russia" portal.
He recalled that KAZ is fulfilling a state order, which consists of building Tu-160M strategic missile-carrying bombers, repairing Tu-22M and Tu-95.
It can be assumed that the main problem why the production of Tu-214 is stalling is the lack of qualified personnel who could be involved in the production of the aircraft. The state defense order fully consumes all the labor and intellectual resources of KAZ.
Velichko added that in order to increase the production of Tu-214 to at least a dozen per year, it is necessary to increase production capacity, and this process is underway.
New sites are being built, new equipment is being imported. Will S7 be able to receive at least a quarter of the ordered aircraft? I don't think so in the foreseeable future.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained that the management of PJSC "Tupolev" did too little for the Tu-214 program in 30 years, and the aircraft itself"stuck in the 90s". Against this background, the news broke that the S7 airline ordered100 Tu-214 aircraft from KAZ at once.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that"Yakovlev" is able to produce up to 36 MS-21 aircraft per year in the future.
