The UK authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the sanctions regime was violated due to the acquisition of Russian aircraft. This was reported by The Observer newspaper.
According to the Ministry for Business and Trade, the British side imported goods from Russia from January to June 2025 for 80 million pounds - about 105 million euros.
Almost half of this amount, 36.3 million pounds, came from Russian aircraft, in particular, airplanes. Which ones exactly are not specified in the material.
British officials could not confirm whether these purchases were permitted under the current sanctions regime. It prohibits the acquisition of aircraft and technologies that "could provide significant income for Russia."
Earlier www1.ru reported that UAC showed the Su-57 in the paint shop for the first time.
