Admiral: Launch of the "Khabarovsk" SSGN means the start of the "Poseidon" nuclear system operation

The submarine of project 09851 was specially designed for the new underwater complex

The launch of the newest nuclear submarine (SSGN) "Khabarovsk" of project 09851 means the beginning of the functioning of the "Poseidon"+SSGN system, which will ensure the security of the Russian Federation from the eastern and western sea directions. This was stated by Admiral Vyacheslav Popov, Commander of the Northern Fleet (1997-2001).

According to him, the capabilities and technologies of the system were initially tested on the "Belgorod" SSGN. Taking this experience into account, the first serial boat for this system, "Khabarovsk," was built.

First, a prototype is made, on which all technologies are tested, then serial production is launched.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the testing of the underwater vehicle "Poseidon". The power of "Poseidon" significantly exceeds the power of the most promising intercontinental missile "Sarmat", he noted.

Military experts clarified that the estimated displacement of "Poseidon" is about 55 tons, which is 30 times more than the standard "Fizik" torpedo. The warhead, according to various estimates, reaches 20-25 megatons.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that "Burevestnik" turned out to be more dangerous than it initially seemed.
