In Kuban, a ban on the passage of electric vehicles and hybrid cars across the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait will be introduced from midnight. This was reported in the operational headquarters of the region.
The restriction will apply to the section of the federal highway A-290 Novorossiysk — Kerch when approaching the Crimean Bridge from the Taman Peninsula. Previously, trucks were already banned from moving on the bridge.
An alternative land route is available for owners of hybrids and electric vehicles: from Taganrog (Rostov Region) to Dzhankoy (Republic of Crimea).
Experts believe that the ban is due to the difficulty of 100% identification of car batteries during inspection, even with the use of the latest technologies.
