Cooperation with Russia on the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter is the most realistic option for India in the field of stealth aviation. This opinion was expressed by Indian expert in the field of defense and space research Girish Linganna.
According to him, the Su-57E is the only fifth-generation fighter that India can actually get in the coming years to meet the current needs of its Air Force.
The Su-57E will allow India to close the critical shortage of combat aircraft and maintain strategic autonomy.
The expert recalled that the Su-57E is ideally integrated with the existing Russian platforms in the Indian Air Force — MiG-29, Su-30MKI and Mi-17 helicopters. Pilots and engineers are well acquainted with the technology, which simplifies maintenance, reduces costs and speeds up training.
In addition, the participation of Indian enterprises in the Su-57E project will provide experience with fifth-generation technologies, accelerating the development of its own AMCA.
