In Russia, light aircraft Yak-52 and Cessna 172 have begun to be used to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by military correspondent Alexander Kots.
According to him, the use of light aviation to destroy drones is an economically viable solution, since the use of military aviation against relatively cheap UAVs is unprofitable.
An interesting solution that has been brewing for a long time. <...> Light aviation is quite capable of taking on this role. The only question is the number of trained pilots and serviceable aircraft.
Kots added that Cessnas are equipped with under-fuselage PKT machine guns with a guidance system, and Yak-52s are used with gunners in the cockpit. The military correspondent noted that in the future, such aviation could be used to launch interceptor drones that will hit targets.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thatthe fiber-optic FPV drone "Zanoza" developed by the "Groza" project hits 80% of targets.
