The reconstruction of the Volkhov Lock facilities, which are part of the Volkhov HPP complex located on the Volkhov River in the Leningrad Region, is nearing completion. The reconstruction began in 2022, and currently the overall construction readiness is more than 90%.
Currently, builders are installing fenders in the lower part of the approach channel, in section No. 13. The reconstruction of the berthing lines of the upper and lower approach channels will allow for safe and comfortable approach and mooring of vessels awaiting lockage.
Also, the reconstruction of the road swing bridge located in the downstream has been completed at the Volkhov Lock. Now the bridge has become a drawbridge, which will allow the passage of vessels up to 13.2 m high. The weight of the bridge span is 160 tons, and its length is 28 meters.
FSI "Rostransmodernizatsiya" plans to complete all repair work in accordance with the planned project completion date - by the end of this year.
