The grand opening of the Tower HPP with a capacity of 10 MW took place in the Itum-Kalinsky District of the Chechen Republic, which, according to experts, will be able to provide electricity to about 10 thousand households. The project was implemented by "RusHydro" and became the first facility of this scale in the region.
The head of the district, Albert Rabuev, noted that the new station will solve the problem of unstable power supply in the mountainous area, especially in difficult weather conditions.
According to experts, this station will provide electricity to about 10 thousand homes, which is very important for a mountainous area. Sometimes in bad weather, during rains or thunderstorms, there are problems with electricity supply. Now these problems are solved almost completely. Itum-Kalinsky district is a remote area, and previously the station was far from settlements. There were difficulties with the stability of electricity supply, but today this station will produce 10 MW of electricity - this is a great help for our district.
The station is built on the Argun River, where the height difference reaches 40 meters in a 1.4 km section, which increases its efficiency. Annually, the Tower HPP will generate 52 million kWh of clean energy. The project also supports the development of tourism infrastructure, including the ski resort under construction.
