The first cars of the Russian high-speed train for the country's first high-speed railway (HSR) Moscow - St. Petersburg will begin to be assembled in early 2026. This was announced by the head of Russian Railways (RZD) holding, Oleg Belozerov.
Train tests will initially begin at speeds up to 250 km/h.
First here in Shcherbinka, then at speeds up to 250 km per hour, and then we will go to the newly built Kryukovo - Tver section, where we will reach a speed of 400 km/h.
Each electric train will consist of eight cars with the possibility of connecting two trains and will offer four classes of service. The maximum speed of the train is up to 400 km/h, and the operating speed is 360 km/h.
The implementation of the Moscow - St. Petersburg high-speed railway construction project is carried out on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of the national project "Efficient Transport System". After the launch of the railway, the travel time between Moscow and St. Petersburg will be reduced to 2 hours 15 minutes, which is almost twice as fast as it is now. The length of the railway will be 676 km and will pass through six regions of the country, where 30 million people live. It is expected that by 2030 the annual passenger traffic between the cities will increase to 23 million people.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that the production of a high-speed train for the HSRhas started at Ural Locomotives.
