IAZ is considered exemplary in terms of lean manufacturing. This is indeed the case from the point of view of production organization. Everything is well-organized, very clean and tidy, and the workshops are staffed with friendly, open people.
Employees of the Sukhoi and Mikoyan Design Bureaus (OKB) visited the prefabrication and stamping, mechanical assembly, and aggregate assembly production units, as well as the final aircraft assembly shops, where they familiarized themselves with the production experience of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant.

The Irkutsk Aviation Plant builds Su-30SM2 fighters, MC-21 passenger aircraft, and Yak-130 light attack aircraft.
