Производство «грустного ослика» Ан-148 призвали возобновить в России с неожиданным партнёром

The airliner will help solve problems with the aircraft fleet in North Korea, Belarus, and Iran

In Russia, it is possible to resume production of the medium-range An-148 airliner. This proposal was made by aviation expert Sergei Marzhetsky.

According to him, the aircraft has a second chance for production in cooperation with North Korea, but under a new name.

Russia has documentation for the An-148. Technical documentation for the D-436 engine is available at the "Ufa Engine-Building Production Association" (UMPO) and FSUE "Salyut". We don't really need this power plant, as we have bet on the more modern PD-8 for the "Superjet" and Be-200.

Marzhetsky drew attention to the fact that the production technology of the D-436 together with the technical documentation for the An-148 can be transferred to North Korea. The specialist believes that in the future, this renamed aircraft will not go beyond North Korea, Iran, and Belarus.

But our allies and partners will be able to solve their problems with an aging aircraft fleet.

About An-148

The basic version of the aircraft is designed to carry up to 83 passengers over a distance of up to 4400 km. The aircraft was nicknamed "sad donkey" due to its appearance, which resembles the appearance of an animal: the high wings resemble ears, and the pointed nose and cockpit resemble a muzzle.

The An-148-200 modification with an elongated fuselage was intended for carrying up to 100 passengers.

In the transport version, the An-148T with a side cargo door and a rear hatch-ramp would have a carrying capacity of 15-20 tons.

The An-148-100EM in the "flying hospital" modification was developed for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. The An-168MP was to become a patrol aircraft.
