Foreign cards can no longer be added to Apple Pay from Russia. This was discovered by journalists. When trying to add cards, an error appears: "Apple Pay setup failed."
The messages when adding a card may differ. In some cases, information about the unavailability of Apple Cash appears. This feature allows you to send and receive money through the "Messages" and Wallet apps on virtual cards. The unusual thing about this error is that it occurs when adding a physical card.
In Russia, it is impossible to add cards from banks in Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Armenia to Apple Pay on iPhones. Sometimes the problem can be solved by changing the geolocation, but this does not always help. The reasons for the restrictions remain unclear.
