In Russia, due to the transition of personal data operators to domestic software, the number of IT failures may increase by up to 45% by 2027. This was stated by Nikolai Ganyushkin, managing partner of Monk Digital Lab.
According to him, this is due to the high complexity and cost of implementing Russian systems, the shortage of specialists, and tight migration deadlines. Already in 2024, the growth of serious failures amounted to 25% for companies that started the transition.
An increase in accidents in the range of 40–45% looks like a conservative estimate. In retail, telecommunications, and the financial industry, where microservice chains are particularly long, the increase may be closer to the upper limit of the range
The transition is due to a government order, according to which operators must completely abandon foreign software by September 1, 2027.
