Upgraded Flywheel Processing Line Launched at KAMAZ Engine Plant

Previously, flywheel blanks were moved between several sections of the plant, which complicated production

On September 5, 2025, the modernization of the flywheel processing line was completed at the KAMAZ engine plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. The production process has been optimized, all operations are now performed in one area, and the site has undergone major repairs.

Previously, flywheel blanks were moved between several sections of the plant, which complicated production. After the modernization, all processing stages are concentrated in one place. The infrastructure of the site has been updated: new ventilation has been installed, lighting has been improved, a new foundation and floors have been poured, walls have been painted, and gates have been installed for convenient transportation of blanks and finished parts. This was announced by Vladimir Borisov, Head of the Central Laboratory of Technological Accuracy of the plant.

The modernization also affected the equipment: machines and units are arranged in a sequential line. A roller conveyor is now used to move blanks weighing from 50 kg, which simplified the process and ensured the interchangeability of workers previously employed in different areas. According to Borisov, this has increased production efficiency.

The modernization project was implemented as part of the KAMAZ plant's productivity improvement program.
