Russia and China are working on an agreement on mutual recognition of driver's licenses, Russian Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin announced on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). Specific deadlines for the completion of negotiations have not yet been determined.
According to Nikitin, the issue is being discussed in a working manner, but there are no exact dates for the completion of the process.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport Dmitry Zverev noted that the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are participating in the negotiations. The main focus is on the recognition of driver's licenses for individual trips of citizens in passenger cars.
In addition, the Federation Council ratified the protocol amending the agreement between the governments of Russia and China. The document aims to simplify the issuance of multiple visas for professional drivers, which will facilitate cross-border travel.
The Eastern Economic Forum, where the announcement was made, is taking place in Vladivostok from September 3 to 6, 2025. The main theme of the forum is "The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity." The business program includes more than 100 sessions, and more than 4.5 thousand people from more than 70 countries are participating.
