AvtoVAZ has found a solution to the problem of sudden steering wheel locking on Lada Vesta models. The company has announced the start of a centralized service campaign aimed at checking and updating the software (SW) of the electronic steering column lock (ESCL) module.
Whenever a Lada Vesta owner visits a service center (including scheduled maintenance), specialists will check the current software version of the module. If necessary, dealers will update the firmware to the latest version free of charge.
Steering wheel locking can occur if owners do not follow the recommendations in the owner's manual. After stopping the engine, it is necessary to wait at least five seconds before restarting, otherwise the steering wheel may remain locked. The software update will completely eliminate the possibility of such a development.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the assembly of Lada Iskra in St. Petersburg was suspended.
