American F-22 fighters escorted the Il-96 aircraft of the Russian President en route from Alaska to Russia, the Kremlin reported.

The Il-96 is a domestic long-range wide-body aircraft. In the Il-96-300 modification, the liner is used by a special flight unit "Russia" for important government transportation.
The first prototype of the new version of the long-range Il-96-400M aircraft made its first flight in November 2023, and the tests took place in normal mode.
