PD-14, PD-8, and PD-35 aircraft engines are turbojet engines. Their main characteristic is the thrust of the jet stream, which pushes the aircraft forward. It is measured in tons of force.
VK-650V, TV7-117V helicopter engines, as well as the VK-2500 family, are turboshaft engines. Their main characteristic is power, which is transmitted to the helicopter's transmission through the engine's output shaft to drive the rotors. It is measured in horsepower.
In the TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engine, the power generated by the engine is transmitted to the aircraft's propeller and is also measured in horsepower.
