During state tests, the crew of the small missile ship (MRK) Typhoon (22800 Karakurt) used the latest Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile artillery system, destroying the Uran missile target. It was launched by a calculation of the Bal coastal missile system (BRK) from an area on the coast of the Caspian Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
MRK Typhoon was involved in the July Storm exercises, which will end on July 27.
After the cruise missile was detected by the ship's radar systems, launches were made from the ship's Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery system at the missile target.
The Pantsir-M SAM combines anti-aircraft guided missiles and automatic artillery installations. The system provides all-round protection of the vessel at a distance of up to 20 km and is capable of simultaneously tracking up to 4 targets. The complex covers against low-altitude targets, cruise missiles and drones.
MRK Typhoon was launched in May 2024. After passing state tests, it will become part of the Russian Navy.
