The large anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ship "Admiral Panteleev" (Project 1155) will lead a detachment of ships from the Pacific Fleet, which will set off on a voyage from Vladivostok as part of the patriotic campaign "Strength in Truth-2025," the fleet's press service reported.
Five surface ships and a submarine will be involved in the campaign, which is scheduled to start on August 1. The ships will visit Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Anadyr, Severo-Kurilsk, Kurilsk, Korsakov, as well as the urban-type settlements of Provideniya and Yuzhno-Kurilsk.
Local residents will be able to visit arms exhibitions organized on board the Pacific Fleet ships. Sailors will pay military honors to those who died during the Second World War and during the liberation of Shumshu Island (August 17-23, 1945) from Japanese militarists.
The "Admiral Panteleev" ASW ship is the last warship launched before the collapse of the USSR in 1988. After state tests, the USSR Navy flag was raised on the ship, and a week later it was replaced by the St. Andrew's flag.
