Rosatom has started assembling the inner containment of the reactor building at the construction site of the third unit of the Leningrad NPP-2, the state corporation's press service reported.
We have almost 2.5 years of intense work ahead of us. During this time, we need to erect a powerful prestressed reinforced concrete structure lined with steel, which will reliably shelter the reactor plant inside and maintain the tightness of the internal volume of the reactor building in all operating modes of the unit.
A special assembly platform 12 meters high and 44 meters in diameter was used in the construction. The immediate work will include welding 24 steel grades and supplementing the frame with penetrations and other elements.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the foundation of the VVER-1200 reactor shaft of power unit No. 3 was concreting at the Leningrad NPP-2.
