Rosatom has started assembling the inner containment structure of the reactor building at the construction site of the third unit of Leningrad NPP-2. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
We have almost 2.5 years of intense work ahead of us. During this time, we need to erect a powerful prestressed reinforced concrete structure lined with steel, which will reliably shelter the reactor plant inside and maintain the tightness of the internal volume of the reactor building in all operating modes of the unit.
A special assembly platform with a height of 12 meters and a diameter of 44 meters was used in the construction. The immediate work will include welding 24 steel grades and supplementing the frame with penetrations and other elements.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that at Leningrad NPP-2, the foundation of the reactor shaft of the VVER-1200 power unit No. 3 was concreting.
