Concreting of the foundation slab of the building has been completed at the construction site of power unit No. 4 with a VVER-1200 reactor of the Leningrad NPP-2. This facility is part of the so-called "nuclear island", consisting of seven key structures.
Construction work at all facilities of the "nuclear island" of the fourth power unit is ahead of schedule. We plan to work at the same pace in the future so that the foundations of all seven buildings of the "nuclear island" are fully ready by the beginning of December this year.
To build the foundation with an area of 2,000 sq. m and a height of 1,500 mm, the builders needed more than 950 tons of steel reinforcement and 3,000 cubic meters of particularly strong concrete. High-quality components were used in the preparation of the concrete mix.
The tests of the hardened structure lasted 7 days. A repeat check will be performed at the end of May.
Earlier www1.ru reported that at the Leningrad NPP-2 they started creating the internal protective shell of the reactor building.
