Rosatom has started manufacturing the sealing lining of the inner containment (IC) of the reactor building of the third unit of the Leningrad NPP. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
In the near future, a special slipway will be installed next to the nuclear island, on which all the elements of the containment will be assembled together and supplemented with sealed penetrations, elements of safety systems, ventilation, service platforms, etc. The enlarged assembly on the slipway will ensure the high quality of the assembled structures, reduce labor costs and shorten the construction time of the power unit.
Specialists will manufacture 24 metal structures with a total weight of 156 tons. The lower tier of the IC will be assembled from them.
