Viktor Gorbachev, General Director of the "Airport" Association, was skeptical about the words of Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov regarding plans to increase the production of Tu-214 aircraft at the Kazan Aviation Plant to two dozen by 2027-2028.
The expert questioned both the plans for the aircraft and its "innards." After all, engines, avionics, and other components still need to be produced for the Tu-214.
Where, you see, will two dozen come from? In 2027, we will ask Comrade Manturov where the 20 promised machines are. Manturov will make it, but he makes the iron, the airframe. And this airframe needs thousands more components. Are they ready to make them?
At the same time, KAZ continues to face serious difficulties in the production of the Tu-214. Only the first new aircraft has reached the final assembly stage, although initially it was planned to deliver three aircraft back in 2023.
