The Arbitration Court of Tatarstan partially satisfied the claim of Tatneft against Tupolev (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC, Rostec) for more than 6 billion rubles, including penalties.
PJSC Tatneft filed a lawsuit for 5.6 billion rubles at the end of October 2024. The defendants include Tupolev (Moscow) and the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov - a branch of Tupolev (Kazan).
The issue concernedrecovery of unjust enrichment, and the recognition of a clause in the contract as invalid. Later, Tatneft demanded an increase in the claim by another 1.6 billion rubles for interest.
Tupolev is the parent enterprise of the strategic and special aviation division of the UAC, the manufacturer of Tu-160 strategic missile carriers.
