In recent years, Russian cars have seen a significant share of imported spare parts. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, explained in an interview with the "Expert" magazine that this is due to the specifics of production and the economy.
According to the Kremlin representative, in order to produce parts such as power windows and brake pads in Russia, it is necessary to establish mass production. However, there are only a few such manufacturers on the world market, and they produce tens of millions of spare parts per year.
Russian companies focused on the domestic market can make several hundred thousand of such parts, but they will be several times more expensive.
