Russian combat multi-functional MiG-31 fighters used the Kinzhal hypersonic complex for the second time in three days, according to the Telegram channel "Informant".
The missiles entered combat duty with the Russian Armed Forces in August 2022, but the development of the Kinzhal became known back in 2018.
The ammunition is based on the 9M723 Iskander-M aeroballistic missile, a compact projectile carrying various types of warheads, launched at any carrier altitude and at any initial speed. As a result, engineers created a new air missile system that has no analogues in the world.
The exact characteristics of the Kinzhal are classified. According to open sources, the range of the missile is 2 thousand km, and the maximum speed is up to 10 times the speed of sound.
