The "Almaz-Antey" concern has patented a new "unmanned aerial interceptor vehicle." The drone has received two small arms systems with increased firing accuracy; the characteristics of the new product have become known.
As expected, the new interceptor drone will be equipped with Vepr-12 and Saiga-12 smoothbore carbines.
The "Vepr-12" was created based on the design of the Kalashnikov hand-held machine gun. The rifle is equipped with a box magazine for 4, 8 or 10 rounds, or a drum magazine for 20 rounds, and has barrels ranging in length from 305 mm to 680 mm.
"Vepr-12" is the main armament of the "Krechet", developed by the student design bureau of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) commissioned by JSC "Almaz-Antey".
The "Saiga-12" is a smoothbore self-loading rifle based on the Kalashnikov assault rifle, with barrels ranging in length from 330 mm to 680 mm. Equipped with box magazines for 10 rounds, or drum magazines for 20 rounds.
