A photograph of a Soviet T-72M1 (T-72A) tank with a new turret made in China has appeared on social networks. A similar combat vehicle already appeared on one of the streets of the city of Hohhot (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) in March 2023.
The sample became an example of modernization for countries operating outdated versions of the T-72. The combat module has enhanced armor protection both in the roof area and in the front.
A multi-channel sighting system was mounted on the tank, including a panoramic device for the commander. A remotely controlled large-caliber machine gun was also added, although the main gun remained the same.
The tracks and track rollers have also not changed, but it is very likely that the engine power will be increased to improve mobility characteristics.
