The SSJ-100 aircraft created by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) have confirmed their status as the "workhorse" of Russian civil aviation. This was reported by Rostec, citing an interview with Yan Burg, General Director of the Rossiya airline, about the operation of the aircraft.
The largest contribution to the increase in Superjet flight hours was made by the Shuttle program launched in 2024 between Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to Burg, half of the flights are carried out within the framework of the program on the SSJ-100.
In the high season, we operate up to 70 flights a day with the Shuttle. Every second SSJ-100 flight in our schedule is between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Burg added that in peak months, the increase in SSJ-100 flight hours reached 46%. In July last year, 205 flight hours (6.6 hours per day) were accounted for per operated aircraft, and for the whole of 2024 it exceeded 90 thousand hours.
In July 2024, there were 153 flights per SSJ-100, which is 81% more than in July 2023. On average, the Superjet seat occupancy for the year is 90.54%. The flight safety indicator is 99.979%.
Earlier, Burg stated that re-engining the SSJ-100 with domestic PD-8 engines depends on the analysis of their technical and economic characteristics.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft have completed half of the certification program.
