"Meteorite hurtling towards the earth": a new important property of the Oreshnik MRBM revealed

The ballistic missile is effective against the most powerful and fortified underground bunkers

The Russian medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) "Oreshnik" may be effective even against the most deeply buried and fortified concrete bunkers. This was stated by military expert, retired Major General of Aviation Vladimir Popov.

According to him, in each specific case, everything depends on the depth of the bunker and its fortification. Some can be handled by missiles from the Iskander operational-tactical complex or Kinzhal, while others will require Oreshnik.

Nothing will save you from "Oreshnik". No layer of concrete and earth will withstand the impact of the Oreshnik warheads. One missile carries from 6 to 12 warheads. It begins to dive on the target almost from space. After separating from the missile, each warhead turns on its own engines, and they continue to accelerate until the moment of impact on the target. It's like a meteorite hurtling towards the earth. No matter how fortified the sarcophagus of the shelter is, it will crack, crumble, and burst.
Vladimir Popov, military expert

Each Oreshnik block is equipped with its own propulsion system, which does not allow even potential interceptors to calculate the interception point and destroy the warhead.
