VK-650V for light helicopters is the first Russian aircraft engine in this power class for helicopters. Evgeny Prodanov, General Designer of ODK-Klimov (part of the United Engine Corporation), spoke about the advantages of the latest power plant.
According to him, when ODK-Klimov just started its creation, the engineers set themselves the task of developing an engine that, in terms of all technical characteristics, including fuel efficiency and power, would surpass all foreign counterparts.
We successfully coped with this. The engine has passed the entire complex of tests, successfully confirmed all its technical data and received a type certificate last year. Now we are preparing for flight tests.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Tu-214 is alive, not dead: commercial deliveries of the aircraft will start in 2026.
