The plans of the airline "Aeroflot" to receive 200 MC-21 aircraft by 2030 may not come true. This forecast was voiced by the Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation Vladimir Popov.
According to him, it will be very difficult and time-consuming, and added that time was missed since 2023, when the program for the development of the aviation industry was being drawn up.
Today it is unrealistic. Certification tests are not yet completed.
Popov noted that many systems and parts of the MC-21 are created virtually from scratch, so forecasts should be treated with great caution.
I'm not trying to paint a bleak picture, no, it's a fact, just real work. We had to create composites for the wing, all systems and components on our own technological base, and today we are lagging behind in mass production.
Popov stressed that the production facilities have already been worked out at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Now the capacities are designed to produce at least two or three aircraft per month.
But keep in mind that it is impossible to organize such mass production at the initial stage. You need to understand that at the first stage, the plant will be able to make one aircraft in a month and a half or two months. We still need to conduct tests, prepare the aircraft, and then give it to the airline. If we make 12-15 aircraft in the first year, it will be good.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thata full cycle of production of PD-8 and PD-14 blades will ensure the independence of aircraft engine building in Russia.
