An investigation has begun in Russia into the origin of components in electricity meters manufactured by Energomera. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has asked the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) to conduct an audit. Previously, the media reported on the use of imported components in the products, although they are declared as domestic.
In 2025, 234,000 Energomera CE207 R7 meters were produced. If it is confirmed that Russian microchips were not used in the production, the meter should have received only 72 points out of 100. In this case, its status as a domestic device should be questioned. Questions also arise about the company's victory in the Tatenergosbyt tender for 992.4 million rubles.
Experts found that the K5553VG01T microchip from Integrated Telematic Solutions (ITR), used in Energomera CE207 R7 meters, is a V8530P microcontroller from the Taiwanese company VANGO.
In addition, in 2024, an investigation was conducted into Flash microchips from GS Group, which were also used in Energomera meters. The marking found on the crystal indicated the Taiwanese company WinBond. Despite this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade previously confirmed that the development of the GS Group integrated circuit was carried out in Russia. However, a new audit of GS products has now been initiated for compliance with the requirements of Decree No. 719, which determines the origin of goods.
The head of the Association of Developers and Manufacturers of Electronics (ARPE), Ivan Pokrovsky, expressed concern about the situation, noting that if preferences are given to foreign-developed microchips, investments in Russian technologies lose their meaning.
