Up to 400 million rubles will be allocated for the modernization of the Tu-214, which is produced in Kazan, according to the law on amendments to the federal budget for 2025. These funds will be used to modernize the aircraft communication units of the Tu-214.

The Chinese company COMAC signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Russian UAC back in 2014. Three years later, the Chinese-Russian long-range wide-body passenger aircraft received the official name CR-929, and in 2018 a prototype of the same scale CR-929 was shown at the international air show.
The cost of the project was estimated at $20 billion, of which $13 billion was intended directly for the development of the aircraft, $7 billion for financial instruments to stimulate sales and create a post-sales service system. They wanted to start delivering the aircraft as early as 2026.
